How long does it take to get the whole key cabinet into Keyzapp?
Most agencies with up to 300 keys complete the initial setup - fob delivery, property import, and fob assignment - within a single working day. Larger agencies with thousands of keys typically spread the setup over two to three days, starting with the highest-movement keys first and working through the rest. Once a fob is assigned to a key, every subsequent movement is logged automatically with no further setup required.
What happens if a smart fob is lost or damaged?
Lost or damaged fobs are easily replaced. You mark the fob as lost in Keyzapp, which deactivates it so it cannot be used to check keys in or out, and assign a new fob to the same key. The replacement fob inherits the full movement history of the original. Fobs are available in standard and custom branded options and are ordered directly through Keyzapp at a low per-unit cost.
Can contractors and external tradespeople use Keyzapp without being in the office?
Yes. Contractors are added to Keyzapp as key holders and can have keys issued to them using the same tap-and-assign process. When they return a key, it is checked back in at the office or via the mobile app if they bring the fob back in person. Automated overdue alerts are sent to the contractor's mobile number or email when a key is not returned on time - without anyone from your team needing to follow up manually. The full movement history shows when the contractor had each key and for how long.
We have five branches. Do we need separate Keyzapp accounts for each?
No. Keyzapp's Professional plan covers unlimited branches under one account. Each branch has its own key cabinet view and can be managed independently by branch staff, while the central account provides a single dashboard across all locations. Does Keyzapp work without a smartphone? Not all our staff are on the latest handsets.
Yes. Keyzapp works on phones and computers through the web dashboard, and on the dedicated Kiosk for agencies that prefer a fixed in-office check-in/out point.
